Cigarettes and Coffee

My airplane from Dublin to Atlanta couldn't land because of a storm so we circled the sky at 10,000 feet for about an hour before finally descending.  "Welcome to Atlanta" the lady on the intercom said followed by our cheers and claps.

As we began to snap out of flying zombie mode, the lady got back on the intercom.  "I'm sorry, this is kind of embarrassing but we're not in Atlanta we are actually in Greensboro... North Carolina.  Again sorry."

This was followed by laughter.

That storm messed with a lot of people's schedules.  Luckily, I really don't have anything to look forward to.  I'm better at looking backwards at things.  I'm really nostalgic.  After three and half hours of waiting in line, I met a nice catholic family from Ireland who's 7th grade boy knew more about soccer than I know about life.  We discussed comic books, catholics and geography.  I want my daughter or son to be like him; Courteous, thoughtful, curious, patient and badass.

Delta gave me a voucher for free food and a hotel.  I was in heaven. I met a real life vegetarian brother with the longest dreads I've ever seen.  We talked about vegetarianism, buddhism and christianity.   He's a TSA agent who's saving up to open his juice stand in the Caribbean.  We hit it off real well. He told me, "The only way to be free is to be free." He knew what he wanted and he wasn't afraid to go get it.  Maybe he was Yogi Berra in disguise. I don't know.

Later that night (morning) I drank coffee and had a mini cigar that I bought in Belfast.  I would like to say the starry night was rowdy but I couldn't see the stars.  I couldn't really see anything past my thoughts.  There's fog that continues to dominate my vision.  I don't mind though.

I don't care much about being comfortable right now.
